Feeling Good by RealNoir13 Feeling Good by RealNoir13
Late birthday present is late. Nonetheless, I took this oportunity to draw izmoroz's characters in the middle of a Gatsby-like partey with big-ass manors and champagne. Said characters are Thomas, Leonard, Edgar and his lovely sister Edna. I bet they are having a great time. It's just a matter of time until one of them creates a distraction by starting a fire at the gardens to run away with all the champagne, just like that time on Christmaes eve.
Happy Birthday, Iz!! : )

What an incredible gift! I can't even begin to tell you what my favourite parts are.... her sequined skirt, the silhouettes in the background.. the amazingly painted clouds... the awesome light/shadow colours on their bodies... Just wow. FANTASTIC. <3 Always love every single thing you put out Julio~ <3

Holy shizzlefizz Julio! You really done it this time!
You have a surprising way of mixing complimentary colors into a composition. That orange party light is just GLOWING behind the dark figures in the foreground. I like how you got both the moonlight and the party light to hit the characters! It adds this rich coolness to the upper half of the picture <3
AAAH UNFOCUSED LIGHTS!!! YOU DO THEM BETTER THAN I DO AHHH I GOTTA STUDY YOUR UNFOCUSED LIGHTS HNNNNGGG
Might I add that everyone knows how to dress to a massacre party! Edna totally steals the show! I like how Leo wears a red shirt :B great way of translating his scarf into formal wear!

Oh, yes. Working with complementary colors is a thing to approach with caution. Yet what was even more difficult here for me was working over the Izzie's characters ONLY with backlights (I advance quite slowly when that kind of lighting is required!)
AAAAAAH, STOP IT YOU LADY I WON'T ALLOW IT! My unfocused lights are a joke in comparison to yours! You use them with compositional intentions, I use them to make the entire thing more flashy and wowie just to distract the viewer from the existent mistakes here and there (yes I'm a tricky and nasty person).
asdfghjklñ good to know you liked them, Jes! :la:

You managed pretty well with the colors though! Especially dealing with the challenge of having a dominantly cool-colored piece not get distracted from the brighter warm colors. :iconrollinglaplz:
AAAHHHH BUT HOW DO YOU MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE HOW THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE~? ALL BLURRY AND TRANSPARENT IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES GAAAHHH

love theeeemmm :la:

Once again I'm struck speechless by your skills, Julio. Three miles walk wasn't enough air, I need more. :faint:
This painting is simply stupendous, your color-schemes and lighting/shading work look great as always, they truly add to the feeling of the late night partey at the Gatsby's! And all those details, Julio! The individual silhouettes of the quests on the background, windows and other little details of the manor - not to even mention the ones on the characters!

Oh lord, Edna - the outfit you gave her is drop-dead beautiful. Turquoise suits her so well and creates nice contrast compared to her hair and eyes
Oh noes those glowing eyes she's up to no good. Compared to her brother her eyes are indeed brighter red.
I love the scarf and it's venomous colors and pattern! Also that stunning headdress, pearls, sequins and all the other little details D8 Edna wouldn't miss a chance to use fine ass accessories  May I use this design on her, too? I just adore everything about it - so classy! I can definitely imagine Edgar wearing a tailed coat like that, so flashy.
I also adore the fact that Leonard and Thomas look such darling little angels compared to the siblings hhhhh

The way you portrayed all the other characters in formal outfits adds greatly to their personalities, too! Leonard wouldn't certainly feel comfortable wearing tuxedo so I really like how you replaced formal coat with more casual one! And oh lordy, those white pants! It would be a shame if something happened to them.
The one and only time Leonard used white pants.
D'awwww. Can't get over the fact that you draw the most adorable Thomas. Even the texture on his vest is super-detailed! how do you manage Julio pls lend me some of that power of yours! He sure knows how to dress himself all fine and classy!

I apologize for the long comment, I just couldn't think of a way to express these feels in any other way. And after a two weeks of crazy college work I feel like drawing something fun again! and to finish that comic too nngghh
Thank you so much for this amazing gift, Julio! I will treasure this forever! How can I ever repay you kindness ahhhhh :crying:

Yeah, Gatsby must be tied up somewhere inside the basement of the manor. That would be the kind of thing your kids here would do. :iconxboxkidplz:

When it comes to Edna I always take some compositional liberties myself to make her sinister gaze stand out from everyone else's, even from his brother which I always felt he was much more sinister than her but OH WELL.
And of course you can use this design on her since it's essentialy an interpretation by the one she uses on your FABULOUS piece. (I like much more the scarf she has in your picture but I couldn't emulate it right, so make sure to keep it your way which is just grandiose!). :la:
Oh I know Leonard would never use white pants but because of a matter of balance I had to make it that way because Thomas was unbalancing the picture by being the only one not following an hypotetical dark-clothing etiquette.
Aaah, and Thomas also gave me troubles because it's hard for me to portray young-adult characters if I don't know their specific age (That gap of life where you are too young to be taken serious as an adult but old enough to bear with the responsabilities of any adult). I tried to make him like in his early twentysomething in here, but sorry if that is not correct! x(

I'm really Glad you liked it, Izzie!
To keep doing your art is the best repayment! : )

Definitely. They got Thomas to sniff around the place earlier. He's kinda like a hobbit, you know, moving around like he's invisible.

Edna fits on the spotlight perfectly. Oh, Edgar is a time-bomb just waiting to be exploded.

Awww yis, thank you! And you just designed the whole thing about 200% cooler.

Leonard got persuaded by one particular gal to wear those pants for the sake of a perfect painting of her. Such magnanimity. It would be a crime to force poor little Thomas to wear something grim and dark, after all.

I think you pictured Thomas perfectly! He does look his age, and looks so adoraboo I could just smooch his cheeks.

I love this to bits!
Aww, that's one promise I can keep : )
